Adam Lacko started his racing career in 1994 in go-kart racing. Six years later, in 2000, he gained his first achievements in touring cars championship. That time he was sixteen and he earned experience as well as good results in Ford Fiesta Cup, Ford Puma Cup and prestigious Česká Pojišťovna Škoda Octavia Cup.

In 2001 Adam continued in Škoda Octavia Cup – in the end of the season he was second in junior classification and also assisted to his stall´s win in team´s classification. For the first time this year Adam tested race truck Tatra Jamal Super Race category.

In 2002 Adam continued in Škoda Octavia Cup, finished second in driver´s classification and assisted to his stall´s win. He also tested race truck Tatra. Rightly the truck racing became Adam´s domain in upcoming seasons.  

In 2003 Adam took part in European Truck Racing Championship in prominent Super Race category with Tatra. Although he fought in first-rate competition, he could finish fifth in the overall classification. To Adam´s biggest achievements in his first full season in European Truck Racing Championship belonged two second places at Austrian A1 Ring in Spielberg as well as at Netherlandish Zolder. In 2003 for the first time Adam started with Mercedes Benz DTM of Charouz Racing System team.

In the following season 2004 Adam continued in European Truck Racing Championship, but he changed category as well as car. In 2004 Adam competed in Race Truck category with truck MAN. Due to good performances, including four second places at Nürburgring, Zolder and Le Mans and three wins at Barcelona, Nogaro and Most, Adam ranked in 3rd place in overall classification. Thanks to these results Adam was awarded with Jiri Sedlar Award for the best young driver of the year.

After two years in European Truck Racing Championship in 2005 Adam did only a few races. In these several events he competed in Race Truck category with Buggyra. But first of all in 2005 Adam became the first Czech driver in modern World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), when he started in races at Magny-Cours and Spa. In addition to that Adam also appeared in FIA GT Championship for a number of races.

In 2006 Adam combined his racing programme of European Truck Racing Championship and German Porsche Carrera Cup. He raced in half of European Truck Racing Championship events in Race Trucks category with MAN and at the end of the season he gained 8th place in overall classification. In Porsche Carrera Cup he competed with Polish Fuchs Star Moto Racing Team in four events.

In 2007 Adam Lacko join Antonin Charouz´s racing team. For the first time since 2003 Adam didn´t compete in European Truck Racing Championship and he focused on German Porsche Carrera Cup. This season he took part in all Porsche Carrera Cup events, except the last one. The best result of the season was six place from Norisring. Coupled with Farnbacher Racing team Adam finished the season on 17th place overall.

In 2008 Adam didn´t came back to trucks and he held to cars. In this season Adam took part in four championships, in which he competed with three different cars. At the season beginning FIA GT championship should have been the priority, but from the mid-season Adam focused on starts in FIA GT3 and ADAC GT Masters with Corvette Z06R of Czech team MM Racing. In addition to that he competed in Czech touring cars championship with Lamborghini Gallardo of Charouz Racing System. To the best achievements of this season belonged 3rd place at Norisring in ADAC GT Masters series and two fifth places at Brno in FIA GT3 Championship.

Before the start of 2009 season Adam become driver of K plus K motorsport, first Czech racing team paticipating in full season of FIA GT Championship. Adam will drive Saleen S7R in GT1 class.

After the three-year pause Adam Lacko returns to the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. Czech driver will participate in the championship with the support of the manufacturer team MAN. He will represent Austrian Truck Race Team Allgäuer.
