Carl Van Dam completed the Saturday’s qualifying session and the same driver was chosen to start the race on Sunday. Starting from fifth on the grid amongst GT1 cars and 35th overall, Dutch driver successfully cut through traffic, managed to avoid clashes, and drove without a mistake in the wet conditions prevailing during a start period.

In Sunday race, Atlas FX Full Speed team’s drivers completed double-stints. After two hours Van Dam handed over to Julien Schroyen, whose stint was interrupted by a red flag period caused by a major power cut affecting the Belgian circuit. The lack of power has affected communications for the past 20 minutes, and also knocked out the timing screens at the track. The red flag period has taken about half an hour, after that the race has been restarted.

Adam Lacko completed the last double-stint. Czech driver finished the 1000 km of Spa, which has been his debut in the Le Mans Series, in the sixth position in GT1 class and 33rd position in the overall rankings.

Adam Lacko, Atlas FX Full Speed team’s driver: “I really enjoyed the 1000 kilometres of Spa. I have participated in the Le Mans Series for the first time in my career, and the endurance races seem to be more interesting than GT1 races and really stunning. You have to be alert all the time of race. For example, ahead of a curve you haven’t seen anyone in the back mirror, but behind the turn you have been already overtaking by LMP1. It is really interesting.

“We were running without any major problems. The most important thing has been we haven’t had any mechanical problems. I have spent the longest time at the wheel of ours, about 150 minutes. During my stint occurred one safety car period caused by Christoffer Nygaard accident in Blanchimont turn. The following weekend I will start in Czech Touring Car Championship in Most in Czech Republic. I will drive
Mercedes-Benz C-Klasse AMG DTM of Cars.cz Charouz Racing team.”
