Oestreich had no competition again, Lacko had bad luck
(31.05.2011)Our Markus Oestreich showed again that it is very difficult to compete with him. After his victory on the first day of the championship he was again the king of Sundays main race. Following his second victory of the weekend he then added a third position in the handicap race. The English track at Donington suited him perfectly and his results gained him the lead of the drivers championship.
„I am very happy that both of the important races went so well. The speed was fantastic so I could fully enjoy the victory. This time it was not so difficult. The trucks were perfectly prepared so I had no doubts that my first position in super pole would result in victory.“ said Markus Oestreich with a smile.
Nobody was able to match Oestreich´s aggressive style in his Renault. Already at the beginning of the day he was fastest in qualifying deciding the grid positions for the main race. He again led from start to finish ahead of Jochen Hahn in second and the reigning champion Albacete third. His team mate Markus Bösiger gained the points for sixth position. Adam Lacko was not able to finish the race because of technical problems. „Straight after the start Stuart Oliver bumped into me which caused me to get hooked up with Uwe Nittel. This was not so bad but after my turbo hose failed my race was finished. It was just bad luck, this can happen,“ said Adam Lacko.
The handicap race was again full of nerves following the work for mechanics. „King“ Oese didn´t dissapoint the crowd as he fought his way from his starting position of eighth right up to third place. Hahn took the victory ahead of Nittel who finished second. Our Markus Bösiger finished the race fifth. Although Adam Lacko started the second race from the very back of the grid after his troubles from the first race he was able to move through the field to the sixth. Unfortunatley he would again not finish the race due to technical problems. „Adam had such bad luck on Sunday but I am very satisfied with his performance. We showed here in England that our trucks are able to win.. Oese was perfect in both of the races that he won and I still believe that the podium is big enough for all three MKR drivers,“ said Mario Kress.
